The Kelpies are Scotland's most iconic modern landmark — two 30-metre steel horse head sculptures by artist Andy Scott, unveiled in 2013 at The Helix in Falkirk. Inspired by the mythical water horses of Scottish folklore, they stand as a tribute to the heavy horses that once powered the canals and industries of central Scotland. This handmade sculpture takes that same spirit and renders it in miniature — two horse heads shaped entirely by hand from silver aluminium wire on a stainless steel frame, their flowing manes and strong features formed strand by strand. At 14 inches high, it's a piece with real presence, and the natural sheen of the aluminium shifts with the light in a way that gives it an almost living quality. Because every piece is made by hand, no two are exactly alike.
